Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

NNJ-ATD offers a variety of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) as another way to provide value to our members.

So what is a SIG? SIGs are informal discussion groups that meet on a regular basis to discuss topics of interest. Some SIG meetings have speakers who present on a timely subject in the field, while other meetings may focus on a specific theme or book. Joining and being part of a SIG is a great way to delve into specific professional topics in a relaxed, informal, friendly, peer group setting!

If you have a certain area of interest (e.g. Sales, OD, etc.) and want to explore forming a SIG, please contact us at admin@nnjatd.orgWe are always open to new ideas!

NNJ ATD currently has had some very successful SIGs. The Career in Transition SIG has been successful in its 8+ year existence.  In 2012 we launched our Book Club SIG and the Learning Technologies SIG.  


Career Transition SIG

Mission: To provide information, inspiration, and motivation to community members interested in Career Management, Development, and Transition. The Career Transition SIG provides a platform for participants to share career goals, opportunities, and ideas to develop relationships with others in the community.

Why Join: Network and learn how to manage and advance your career while employed or in career transition.

·       Learn from experts in Career Management


·       2nd Thursday of every other month, 6 – 8 PM

Learning Technologies SIG

Mission: The Learning Technologies SIG provides a forum for technology based learning and performance professionals to network, learn and share. Whether its eLearning, mLearning, computer based or web based training, we will explore the technological and design innovations that support and enhance our work. We welcome members with all levels of experience in eLearning.
