    Learning Experience Platforms

Tij Nerurkar, Academy Head - North America at Cognizant Technology Solutions

Although we've had to reschedule the ATD Forte conference for late August, we continue to work hard to create value for our talent development community. We’ve reached out to our conference presenters to see if they'd be willing to share their experience and expertise via webinar; the response was overwhelming!

On select Friday's from 12:00pm – 1:00pm, an executive from some of the largest organizations in the world will present relevant content with practical takeaways all talent development professionals can utilize. Note that this content will be related to and different from their ATD Forte presentation.

We hope you’ll join us Friday at noon! If you have missed previous sessions, we will be posting them to our ATD Forte YouTube channel. Be sure to subscribe so you can easily keep track of the videos we post.

An Open Dialogue on Deep Learning in Crisis

    Chuck Kovach

    (Rescheduled from March 2020)

    About This Event

The unprecedented crises organizations are facing have brought to the forefront the ability to learn from crisis, and apply that learning to recovery and creating a better future. However, experience has shown that organizations often don’t learn as much as needed from crises, due to the nature of crisis itself and lack of key capabilities within the organization and its people.

In this session, we will engage in an open dialogue on the capabilities needed to learn from crises. Using content based on a current research project with Seton Hall University, you’ll share perspectives and experiences with your colleagues in real time to explore deep learning and how it can be developed with your organization, clients, teams, and individuals with whom you collaborate.

    Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

    • Discuss the barriers to learning from crisis.
    • Distinguish deep learning from traditional learning from experience approaches.
    • Identify ways to assess deep learning capability

    ATD Capability Model

This session complements the Communication, Emotional Intelligence and Decision Making, Collaboration and Leadership, Project Management, and Lifelong Learning.

What Did YOU Learn at Work Today?

    Dan Tobin

    About This Event
Employees at all levels, from the CEO on down, have a raft of opportunities to learn as part of their everyday work, but few recognize or take advantage of those opportunities – opportunities that can help them improve their performance in their current jobs and accelerate their career growth. The session's content will come from Dan Tobin’s 40 years of experience in the learning and development profession and his book, Learn Your Way to Success. In this session, he will discuss the many ways in which employees (including YOU) can learn and how training groups can help the company’s employees “learn to learn.”

    Topics will include:

    • How we squander learning opportunities every day
    • Using staff and team meetings to help employees learn
    • Getting maximum benefit from formal training
    • Asking questions: be a “smart dummy”
    • Building your personal learning network

    Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will:

    • Identify the many learning opportunities they have every day at work
    • Identify ways in which training groups can help employees "learn to learn"

How to Show Evidence of Learning Impact

    Jeffrey Berk COO, Performitiv

    About This Event

This presentation will help learning professionals glean insight on practical yet valid ways to tell the story of learning impact. It will present an approach that is based on roughly reasonable use of evaluation data and business operations data. Collectively this information can be used to highlight value creation, identify improvements and associate learning to business outcomes.

    Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will be able to apply this on the job:

    • Understand evidence as opposed to proof.

    • Review the types of evidence available to L&D.

    • Learn how to collect, report and discuss evidence to tell the story of impact.
