Learning Strategy That Stands the Test of Time

During this interactive seminar we will explore:

• Examples of successful learning and development strategies
• The value of an integrated learning strategy with talent development
• Creating and maintaining value
• The impact of a learning strategy on overall company performance
• Emerging strategy challenges impacting ongoing implementation
• Key factors driving and derailing strategy
• Leveraging for business and bottom line impact

The session will begin with an overview and discussion of key components of an effective and successful Learning and Development Strategy. Examples of existing strategies will be shared and explored. Time will be spent interacting in table groups to discuss opportunities, challenges, pitfalls and successes regarding your own L& D strategy. A strategy checklist will be provided to support discussion. Finally, each group will share best practices and lessons learned with the general attendees.

The Learning and Development Strategy is a comprehensive plan that details how the organization is going to facilitate continuous improvement in its employees. This implies a focus on the development of a learning culture in support of the overall Talent Development Strategy. This blueprint needs to support the optimization of the human resource capital within the organization. It is essential that the learning strategy is aligned to the organization's talent development strategy and enables its vision to be realized.

Too often learning success is measured by the number of training sessions completed and the number of people in the seats. This inadequately represents the value of learning in an organization. Learning needs to focus on improving the current performance in an organization, as well as ensuring that skill sets exist amongst employees for future competencies required by the organization. It allows you to make better decisions and align and link your group’s achievements to the rest of the organization.
