Employee Learning Week
Lunchtime Webinar
Session Two:
Needs Assessment
Tuesday, December 6th
12:00pm - 1:00pm

About the session:
Needs Assessment: Do Something—Anything!
As instructional designers and developers, we live in a “rapid” world. We are constantly challenged to do more with less and deliver as quickly as possible. This pace has morphed standard practices and caused in some cases results in leaving steps out of the design and development process. Often, doing needs assessment and the analysis are the first to go, “because we just don’t have the resources”.
Attending this session will hopefully transform this thinking from it being a waste of resources to a vital aspect of developing better learning strategy.
In this session, we will cover:
- What needs assessment is, is not, and what it is intended to do
- The difference between analysis and assessment
- How to craft better questions
- Explore ways of uncovering and gathering the needs
