Employees at all levels, from the CEO on down, have a raft of opportunities to learn as part of their everyday work, but few recognize or take advantage of those opportunities – opportunities that can help them improve their performance in their current jobs and accelerate their career growth. The session's content will come from Dan Tobin’s 40 years of experience in the learning and development profession and his book, Learn Your Way to Success. In this session, he will discuss the many ways in which employees (including YOU) can learn and how training groups can help the company’s employees “learn to learn.”

Topics will include:

• How we squander learning opportunities every day
• Using staff and team meetings to help employees learn
• Getting maximum benefit from formal training
• Asking questions: be a “smart dummy”
• Building your personal learning network

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will:     

• Identify the many learning opportunities they have every day at work
• Identify ways in which training groups can help employees "learn to learn"

About Our Presenter 

Dan Tobin has worked in the learning and development profession for more than 40 years. During this time, he has served as a one-person training department, built two corporate universities from scratch, served as vice president of program design and development for the American Management Association, and consulted to companies around the world. He is the author of eight books on corporate learning strategies and has given keynotes and workshops on five continents.
