Instilling Self-Accountability in Yourself and Others

About This Event

A key differentiator of a high performing organization is a culture of accountability. To instill that culture, we look to the leaders to hold their people accountable – through clearly communicated expectations, follow-up and feedback (hopefully combined with coaching). But what if employees were to take the primary responsibility in holding themselves accountable. How much more powerful would that be? Yet we don’t see a lot of this in organizations. In this program we will explore how employees can take ownership/personal responsibility (we’ll call it self-accountability) and how to create an environment where employees see the value of holding themselves accountable.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn the behaviors that define/demonstrate Self-Accountability (BRAND model)
  • Recognize the fallacy behind certain phrases and their relationship to Self-Accountability
  • Understand why Self-Accountability is not displayed more in companies
  • Learn how to instill Self-Accountability in others (3 Rs)

ATD Capability Model

This session complements Developing Organizational capability.
