About the Session
In an ever changing learning environment, one of the most vocal calls is to implement Gamification in the training we build. Ask a room filled with learning professionals to define Gamification and you’ll get many different responses, including:
• It’s about adding points, badges or leaderboard to existing learning assets
• It’s about making it “look” more like a game
• It’s about making a course more interactive
• It doesn’t mean anything to me! Are you making a game?
With so many points of views, how do you define Gamification for your organization and implement changes in your learning strategy to meet the definition established?
During this session, we will discuss what Gamification is and how it impacts the design and development of learning. We will also share examples of learning modules incorporating game mechanics and game based learning.
Participants will learn to:
• Easily answer the question: “What is Gamification?”
• Differentiate between Gamification and Game-based Learning
• Identify opportunities for Gamification within your organization
• Leverage and improve existing employee skill sets to incorporate game mechanics and thinking
