As an organization of volunteers, ATD NNJ appreciates the hard work of members who give their time, talent, and expertise to make our chapter a success.

Nancy Cattle

Nancy Cattle has enjoyed a career in Learning and Development, IT, and software implementations.  As Director of Training at several fast-paced software companies, she helped those companies grow by training staff and customers.  She then led a 6-year global training program at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to increase productivity using IT tools such as SharePoint and social tools. Currently on the global learning team at IQVIA, she continues to make learning enterprise software easier to learn and use. Her enthusiasm for e-learning and micro-learning tools led her to create an online platform called GetYourselfStarted.com, where she created guidance for busy professionals on how to stay well while being a family caregiver. Her enthusiasm for the industry has led her to serve on the board as VP Membership, VP Technology, VP Administration and in 2016 as President.

Tony Irace
Past President

Over his 30-year career, Tony has held instructional design, project management and people leadership positions. He has extensive experience in business transformation initiatives, including building and restructuring learning organizations, learning system selection and procurement, and rollout of large corporate initiatives.
Tony has a clear mission - helping others improve their performance at work. He has spent his career designing, delivering, organizing, and implementing learning solutions aligned to his clients’ business objectives. He is a strategic, collaborative, and innovative business partner who works with Senior Business Leaders to help them achieve their goals.
Tony is a founding member and was recently co-chair of the NNJ ATD Executive Advisory council. He is a long-time member of the NNJ ATD chapter and served as President Elect in 2018. Tony earned a B.A. in English Literature and an M.A. in Linguistics from New York University. He has completed graduate work in Adult Education and Workplace Learning at Teacher’s College, Columbia University.

Scott Gingold
President Elect

As an Enterprise Partner at WJM Associates, Scott combine an uncompromising commitment to customer service with a sweeping knowledge of coaching theory, research and practice. A continuous learner, Scott’s clients appreciate his contagious enthusiasm as a thinking partner. Scott partners with internal and external teams to deliver customized solutions to meet client’s strategic objectives, which has resulted in building and maintaining long-term client relationships. During his 20 years in the industry, Scott has been fortunate to work with national and global organizations across many industries. Since joining NNJ ATD approximately 15 years ago, it has been a major force in his career development. As talent development was a second career for him, Scott found the relationships he formed within the chapter extremely valuable to his personal and professional development. Early on, some of the more seasoned members were informal mentors to him, and he greatly appreciated their guidance. Scott wants to ensure that this support is available to the next generation of talent development professionals. Scott’s first role was a volunteer on the Finance team. Then, he served on the Marketing team, eventually becoming VP, Marketing. Maurice Ford
VP Technology

Maurice Ford, an L&D professional has held the position of Instructional Designer for several global pharmaceutical companies in the tri-state area. He has held the position of Lead eLearning Developer for the City of New York on an L&D - Change Management project involving 83 NYC government agencies, encompassing over 90,000 users (employees).  He has also held the position of Senior Instructional Designer for Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. \ MOL-IT (America). Mr. Ford currently holds the position of Senior eLearning Developer / Instructional Designer at Epstein Becker & Green, P.C., a national law firm with a primary focus on health care and life sciences; employment, labor, workforce management, litigation and business disputes. At EBG Mr. Ford develops eLearning products designed to help employers in jurisdictions with mandatory training requirements, as well as those in locations without them, encourage behaviors that foster a work environment free from discrimination and harassment.   Mr. Ford has a Master’s degree in Information Technology from Mercy College(NY), a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Baruch College, and an  Associate's degree in Marketing from Bronx Community College.  Mr. Ford has also worked as a Part-Time Adjunct Professor for the City University of New York teaching web design and development. He also served as a Communications and Logistics Officer in the US Army.

Pam Sammarco
VP Leadership & Talent Development

CPLP, M.S. Industrial/Organizational Psychologist. Business confidence is an outcome of developing leader and workforce capability.   As CEO of Green Training Associates LLC since 2009, Pam builds sustainable organizations by developing leadership and workforce capabilities with solutions to prepare future leaders through training, mentoring partnerships, performance coaching and organizational effectiveness.  I expanded with a new division, Leader & Workforce Readiness Partners.  Areas of expertise:  leadership capabilities, 21st century core competencies, global sales training, sales leadership, sustainability workshops and services to deliver impact to any client’s business.  Pam’s training expertise spans three industries for progressive and innovative companies: Citicorp, American Express, Alcatel-Lucent and Medco Health Solutions.  For leadership and talent selection, development and succession planning, I am certified to deliver Hogan Leadership Assessment Systems.  Since 2007, Pam holds her Certified Professional in Learning & Performance credentials, demonstrating that she met ATD standards.  Pam is an NNJ ATD Past President and Board officer for 20 years. Past President 2004 (executive 2003-2004-2005); VP, Programs 3 years; current role VP, Leadership & Talent Development where I create a thriving volunteer community that connects people with activities to get engaged in running our organization.  I joined in 1985 to talk with professionals who are passionate about the work we do.  Our community is filled with terrific friends and colleagues. 

Pam earned her M.S. degree in Applied Psychology - HR Management, Stevens Institute of Technology and B.A. focus - Industrial/Organizational Psychology, math and statistics minor, Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, Psi Chi Psychology National Honor Society, Douglass College, Rutgers University, New Brunswick.

Marc Strano
VP Programs

Marc’s expertise has advanced leadership culture within such varied industries as Commercial and Retail Banking, Finance, Legal, Academia, Fine Retail, Construction, Consumer Electronics, and Global Shipping and Logistics. Designer, developer, and facilitator, Marc has created and led both conventional and innovative programs for organizations ranging in size from a handful of local employees to global matrixed conglomerates. Marc’s consulting practice, SHIFT Leadership Development LLC, provides Leadership Development and Employee Growth are the ultimate competitive advantage in the marketplace. Marc delivers transformational development experiences with an aim to improve participants’ self-awareness and understanding of interpersonal dynamics and make every workplace stimulating and rewarding. Marc has achieved a Master of International Management – Finance and Trade (Thunderbird School of Global Management); Bachelor of Arts – Linguistics (University of Rochester).

David Presley
VP Finance

David’s professional back ground is in Learning and Training Development Operations. David has successfully led teams in the creation of strategic learning solutions that help business develop the necessary skills to achieve their goals and improve performance.  He has provided leadership in problem-solving, financial forecasting, operational streamlining, and program management and has led numerous transformation and change initiatives.  Formerly with Alcatel-Lucent where he has held a variety of leadership positions including, Senior Director - Americas Region- Alcatel-Lucent University, Director Customer Business Strategy, Director Alcatel-Lucent University, currently supporting businesses consulting. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve in leadership capacity for an organization dedicated to the performance of workplace learning professionals. Melody Kombo
VP Administration

For over 15 years, Melody has worked in the learning & organizational development field, leadership development, across public, private and government entities. She has extensive experience creating, managing, evaluating, and supporting teams at leading institutions like Anthem Health, Morgan Stanley and Visiting Nurse Service of New York. Her take has always been that employee development is the ultimate competitive advantage in the marketplace. Melody deeply understands how to harness talent as both an in-house leader and external consultant. She has overseen strategy, delivery and implementation of L&D solutions, managed departmental budgets, delivered OD interventions that reduced employee attrition, created leadership and career progression courses, and administered psychometric personality profiles. She joined ATD (both National and NNJATD) to be part of a community that “speaks” her language. It presented a chance for her to continue to grow and learn, meet new people in the industry, network, and give back by volunteering. She is pleased to be part of a strong and active association.

Mary Anne Kochut
VP Marketing

Mary Anne is the Managing Director of Champions for Success, LLC. She is an author, motivational speaker, coach, trainer, organization/management development professional and professor who is skilled in group dynamics, consultation and facilitation. In addition to managing her own company, she is a member of the adjunct faculty of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Essex County College, Hudson County College, Brookdale Community College, Passaic County Community College, Hudson County Community College and Mercer County College. As someone who has always had a keen and sincere interest in the development of human resources, my personal motto is “committed to the extraordinary.” As a result, I do my best to remain "in touch" with the most current and provocative issues in American business today. I am a determined individual who is committed to giving any project I’m involved with one hundred percent of my talents and energies and will to applying these talents and energies towards growing and supporting the ATD Community.

Carrie Ballone
VP Communications

Carrie is a Learning & Development Professional with broad experience in Financial Services, Franchising, Education, and Non-profit. Passionate about learning & fostering professional growth. Carrie currently holds a dual role as a Training Leader with Lakeland Bank and Founder & Principal of the Leadership Distillery Consulting Practice. She is looking forward to supporting the continued growth and reach of NNJ ATD to equip learning professionals within our community. Carrie is a Non-profit Trustee and volunteer with organizations that care for and assist families in transition and individuals to combat addiction. She holds the following credentials: AAS – Recreation and Leisure Service Management, BS – Sociology, MS – Management, Concentration on Org. Change. Minor in Human Resources, Executive Coaching Certification from Kaplan University, DISC Certification, Driving Forces Certification, HD Certification, EI Certification.

Christine Grazio
VP Membership

Christine Grazio is a Chapter member since March 2018. After a 10-year sales career in the Yearbook division of Herff Jones, she transitioned to a training and development role for the company. Over the course of 6+ years, she focused on training the sales team and implementing a blended learning strategy. She designed and facilitated sales, product, and account management training, and rolled out a new mobile learning platform. Most recently, she has accepted a position with Philips and will be joining their Global Quality & Compliance Education team as an eLearning Instructional Designer. Christine is passionate about lifelong learning and have experienced first-hand how valuable an engaged professional community can be to career development and professional growth. She’s eager to give back to the NNJ ATD community and to help others connect and discover the value. She brings a BA in English, River University, Nashua NH and a certificate in Instructional Design, ATD.

Cynthia Roman
VP Programs

Cynthia Roman bring 20 + years in the Learning and Development Industry. Started as a technical writer, moved to instructional design, training delivery, and now training management. She currently works for IQVIA, since 2011. Her prior work experience includes: Pershing – BNY Mellon 2006 – 2011 and Cendant Corporation – 2002 – 2006. Cynthia likes the idea of having other professional in my field as a resource. We all have different experiences and backgrounds and the ability to share thoughts, ideas and strategies is exciting. She also volunteered for Morris County 4H – Board 1992-1995 Events Chair, VP and Friends of Lord Stirling Stable – 1996 – 2010 – Board member, Vice President, President. She’s dedicated to being a Girl Scouts NNJ Leader, since 2014. She has a BA of English 1991.

Christine Troianello
Member at Large
Christine leads the Talent Development and Learning function for Prudential’s Law, Compliance, Business Ethics and External Affairs division. In this role she is responsible for leadership, executive and professional development, diversity and inclusion education, pipeline programs, development planning, learning, organizational effectiveness and driving the organization’s talent mindset and culture.

Prior to joining Prudential Christine held global managerial and leadership roles in learning and organizational development at AT&T, Alcatel-Lucent, Avaya and Research In Motion where she was responsible for major restructuring and learning transformation, global strategy, organizational development, managing global training development, delivery and technical writing operations, and outsourcing and off-shoring learning, translations and other operations.

Christine holds her MA in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, her BA in French and German and completed an executive program in Marketing and Business at the Wharton School. She is as an adjunct faculty member and mentor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, New Jersey, has worked as an executive coach and consultant at the Lead Life Institute and has been a facilitator in their women’s leadership program, WELL (Women’s Effectiveness in Leadership and Life). She is a contributing author of the leadership book, “How Women are Transforming Leadership” by Mary Lou Dècosterd. She is also a member and Past President of the Board of Directors and Executive Advisory Committee of the Northern New Jersey ATD (Association for Talent Development).


Tim Tyler

I pursued and achieved the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) after ten years in the field because I came to see learning as more than just a corporate function. I believe learning is a profession, even a calling. Since then I have relentlessly developed my own skills and applied them to provide engaging and effective training for technicians, sales professionals, managers and entrepreneurs in manufacturing and real estate. 
I delight in learning challenges that involve organizational and transformational market changes, engaging a learner network that is either directly employed or independent and entrepreneurial.
As a corporate learning professional, I engage in conversations to both learn and share with like-minded learning professionals, sales and marketing professionals. As a mentor I have assisted younger colleagues to clarify their career  goals and take concrete steps to pursue them. As a local learning leader, I have guided NNJ ATD chapter to identify learning audiences and develop programming to attract a wide variety of learning professionals to the chapter, maintaining a focus on member value.

Pamela Lambert

Pamela Lambert has over 15 years of Learning Experience working in organizations like UBS, MetLife, CIT, Prudential and most recently she is an Associate Director, Learning Platforms Manager with IQVIA where she is responsible for building and executing the digital strategy to deliver product training.  One of her key strengths is streamlining processes and driving technology solutions in learning organizations. Pamela’s professional background is in helping guide the planning and implementation of leadership, sales and management training programs, program management, process management, technology training initiatives, administration, marketing and communication. Pamela has been a member of ATD for over 10 years and enjoys working with and developing other learning professional.
